I am a doctor working in Hampshire, and I graduated in 2017 from the University of Southampton.
I applied to Medicine twice, and in 2010 was accepted onto Southampton’s BM6 widening participation programme. In 2011-12 I took a year out, but have now completed my medical degree. I worked as a student ambassador at the university in particular helping out with widening access activities and outreach. I also have spent many years as a personal statement reviewer, helping those applying to medical school. I worked at the interviews and open days and have spent my time finding information for applicants to demystify the process!
I believe in an open and honest medicine admissions process with open data and clear marking criteria so that no one is left in the dark about how and where to apply. The application process is a barrier to those who are unfamiliar with it, and I would love to help remove this.
